Hope in Action 5k Run
The Hope in Action 5k Run is a fundraising event held in Salt Lake City, Utah. The event takes place at Memory Grove, with participants gathering at the north east area of the Capitol Building parking lot. The primary objective of the gathering is to support Hope After Polygamy, a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships for individuals who have left polygamous groups and require assistance with their education.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5k Run)
- 1.5 Miles (1k Walk)
The registration fee for the 3.1 Miles race includes a t-shirt. For those participating in the 1.5 Miles walk, t-shirts are available only to those also registered for the longer distance. The event features several activities and amenities, including snow cones, snacks, balloon animals, and a magician.
Competitive elements are included for the 3.1 Miles distance, with prizes awarded to first, second, and third place winners. Additionally, all participants in both categories can take part in prize drawings. To support conservation efforts, the organizers suggest that attendees bring a refillable water bottle for hydration. The course and venue are located at 500 North Cortez St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
