Hook Mountain Ultra
The Hook Mountain Ultra is a trail running event held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Nyack Beach State Park in Nyack, New York. The event offers two distance options on a looped trail course that includes singletrack, gravel sections, exposed ridges, steep descents, and scenic views of the Hudson River.
The longer option is a 50 mile trail race that has approximately 9,700 feet of elevation gain. The 50 mile course begins with a 4 mile out and back to spread the field, then continues with four consecutive 11.5 mile loops. Each loop gains about 2,431 feet of elevation. The 50 mile event is intended for experienced ultra runners.
The shorter option is a 27 mile Mountain Marathon with approximately 4,900 feet of elevation gain. It follows the same initial 4 mile out and back, then two consecutive 11.5 mile loops. The course combines technical singletrack, runnable gravel, and sustained climbing over repeated loops.
