Honoring 25 Years of Resilience 5K Run/Walk
The event is a 5K run/walk held on September 12, 2026 at Valley Stream Central High School, 135 Fletcher Ave, Valley Stream, NY. It serves as a fundraiser for Tunnel to Towers and offers both in-person and virtual participation options.
The in-person course begins and ends at the gate connecting the high school to A.J. Hendrickson Park, proceeds north through Hendrickson Park, crosses Hendrickson Avenue into Valley Stream State Park, follows the designated northern loop twice to complete the full 5K, and returns to the Central High School gate for the finish. Chip timing and race bibs are provided; personalized bibs are available for participants who register three weeks before the event.
Registration categories include 5K Run/Walk, Student, Staff, and a Virtual 5K option. Fees vary by registration date and include processing charges. Registration terms state that fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Bib pickup is managed by event staff starting one hour before the event; last-minute registrants can receive a bib number by text within a short timeframe.
