Honoring 25 Years of Resilience 5K Run/Walk
The event is a fundraiser for Tunnel to Towers held on September 12, 2026, at Valley Stream Central High School, 135 Fletcher Ave, Valley Stream, NY 11580. The main distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and a virtual 5K option is available with a submission window that extends from race day through the following Sunday.
Registration options include in-person 5K entries, student and staff pricing categories, a virtual 5K entry, and options to sponsor a runner or make donations. Fees vary by registration date and include processing charges. Registration fees are non-refundable and not transferable. Participants who register at least three weeks before the event receive a personalized bib.
The course begins and finishes at the gate connecting the high school to A.J. Hendrickson Park, proceeds north through A.J. Hendrickson Park, crosses Hendrickson Avenue into Valley Stream State Park, completes the park's northern loop twice to reach the full 5K, and returns to the high school gate for the finish.
Onsite amenities described for participants include on-site parking, indoor restrooms, water stations on course and at the finish, race bibs with chip timing, first-aid support, post-race refreshments, event shirts for registered participants, live text and email results, and free finish-line photos.
