Honoring 25 Years of Resilience 5K Run/Walk
Honoring 25 Years of Resilience is a community 5K run and walk presented at Valley Stream Central High School in Valley Stream, New York. The event serves as a fundraiser for Tunnel to Towers and uses chip timing with race bibs provided to participants.
The course begins and ends at the gate connecting Valley Stream Central High School to A.J. Hendrickson Park. Participants proceed north through A.J. Hendrickson Park, cross Hendrickson Avenue into Valley Stream State Park, complete the park's northern loop twice to reach the full distance of 5K, and return to the Central High School gate for the finish.
Event amenities include on site parking, indoor restroom access, water stations on course and at the finish line, music and a DJ at the start and finish areas, first aid medical support on site, post race refreshments, event shirts for participants registered before August 31, and personalized bibs when registration is completed three weeks in advance. Results are provided live and via text and email, and free finish line photos and same day finish line video are available. Virtual participants may upload a finish time and photos beginning on Race Day through the following Sunday.
