Event Details
This event, the Homerun for the Homeless, includes a 5K Competitive Run and a 5K Fun Run/Walk, plus a Kids' Dash. The 5K course is through downtown El Paso and ends inside Southwest University Park, the home of the El Paso Chihuahuas. The event is held rain or shine.
Location & Logistics
The event is based at Southwest University Park in El Paso, Texas. A clear bag policy is enforced, and no pets are allowed inside the ballpark. Paid parking is available at city meters, the Union Plaza Parking Terminal, and the Convention Center Parking Garage.
Timing & Awards
Chip timing is guaranteed for competitive runners who register in advance, but it is not available for race day registration. There is no race day registration for the competitive 5K. Awards include trophies for the top three male and female winners, trophies for the largest and most spirited teams, and signature medals for the top three in each age group. Finisher medals are given to the first 800 finishers.
Registration & Perks
Registration fees apply and are non-refundable. Team discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. The first 500 registered participants receive a free t-shirt and one ticket to an El Paso Chihuahuas baseball game on the same day. Additional tickets can be purchased separately.
Beneficiary
All money raised from the event supports the Opportunity Center for the Homeless, which is a 501(c)(3) organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
