Bödefelder Hollenmarsch
The Bödefelder Hollenmarsch is a versatile sports event held in the Schmallenberger Sauerland region. Participants can choose to complete the routes as walkers, hikers, Nordic walkers, speed hikers, or trail runners. The event takes place around the village of Bödefeld, with longer routes extending into the forests of Winterberg and reaching as far as the Rhein-Weser-Turm in the Olpe district.
The event offers several "distance packages," each providing two options. A unique feature of this event is that participants can decide at specific checkpoints during the activity whether to take the shorter or longer version of their chosen package, depending on their physical condition at the time. The available distance packages include:
- Package S: 7.5 km (179 m elevation) or 14 km (328 m elevation)
- Package M: 21 km (552 m elevation) or 32 km (815 m elevation)
- Package L: 42 km (992 m elevation) or 55 km (1,224 m elevation)
- Package XL: 83 km (1,456 m elevation) or 101 km (1,652 m elevation)
Participants in the M, L, and XL categories receive breakfast before the start. The longer distances involve navigating through forests at night. For those traveling from afar, there is an option to book overnight accommodation in a local gymnasium. The event also promotes sustainability by offering reusable cups to reduce waste at refreshment stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
