Hollard Daredevil Run 2026 campaign and 2025 handover
The Hollard Daredevil Run is a fundraising run notable for participants wearing purple speedos. Funds raised by the 2025 event totalled R1 200 000 and were donated to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). The donation is earmarked for awareness campaigns, Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) screening and patient support, and it supports distribution of multilingual educational material and free PSA screening programmes.
The campaign launch for 2026 was held at Hollard Campus in Parktown, Johannesburg and the event is scheduled to return to Zoo Lake in Johannesburg on 23 October 2026 with options for participants to run in their own neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools or universities elsewhere in the country. Registrations for the 2026 Daredevil Run open on 1 July and tickets are priced at R200; the ticket price includes courier delivery of a registration pack and a complimentary purple speedo.
The event has supported the development of a national prostate cancer registry planned to launch in 2026 and contributes to helpline and support networks for men and families affected by a diagnosis. Organisers position the run as a way to raise awareness about men’s health, encourage screening, and fund early detection and support services.
