Hollard Daredevil Run donation and 2026 campaign
The Hollard Daredevil Run handed over R1 200 000 to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). The funds raised by participants who wore purple speedos in the 2025 event will support awareness campaigns, Prostate Specific Antigen screening programmes and patient support services.
The Daredevil Run marked its seventeenth year and launched its 2026 campaign under the tagline "Lekker Balls; Lekker Life". The 2025 proceeds were allocated to awareness materials, free PSA screening initiatives and multilingual education distributed by PCF, and to CANSA services that include awareness, early detection, screening and support for men across South Africa.
The event also highlights screening and self-examination messages: a PSA blood test for men over 40 and a two minute testicular self-exam for younger men are presented as early detection measures. The 2026 campaign aims to continue promoting dialogue about men’s health and to support national screening and support networks.
The Daredevil Run will return to Zoo Lake in Johannesburg on 23 October 2026, with options for participants to run in local neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools or universities elsewhere in the country. Registrations for 2026 open on 1 July and tickets are priced at R200, which includes courier delivery of a registration pack and a complimentary purple speedo.
