Crete Half Marathon 2026, Arkalochori
The Crete Half Marathon event on Sunday 04 October 2026 in Arkalochori, Heraklion, includes a half marathon of 21.1 km and parallel road races for 10 km, 5 km, a 1000 m race for primary school children and a 200 m race for athletes with disabilities. The organiser is the Athletic Health Club ATHLISY.
The race village, start and finish area are located at the Arkalochori Exhibition Centre and the municipal theatre. The half marathon and the 5 km and 10 km courses are certified by international road running bodies. There are kilometre markers and multiple refreshment stations on the half marathon route providing 500 ml bottled water and isotonic drinks at specified points.
Participation limits are set for safety: 1600 runners for the half marathon, 900 for the 10 km, 2100 for the 5 km including walkers, and 200 children for the 1000 m. Age rules: half marathon entrants must be at least 18 years old, 10 km at least 15, and 5 km at least 12; minors need written parental consent.
Timing uses electronic chips; results are updated in real time and final results are published after protest period. Medical coverage includes volunteer doctors and ambulances along the courses.
