History on the Run
History on the Run is a community running and walking event in Sheridan, Arkansas on June 20, 2026. The event takes place near downtown Sheridan at 300 South Oak Street, beginning a block from the Grant County Courthouse and with downtown parking available.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 2 Mile walk
- Virtual participant option
Proceeds benefit Keeping the Faith Women's and Children's Shelter. The shelter houses women and children from around the state who are fleeing domestic violence situations or facing homelessness. Organizers state that recent federal funding cuts have put the shelter at risk of closing and that funds from the event will help extend the shelter's ability to assist clients.
The course goes past the Grant County Museum, the courthouse, and other historic downtown buildings. After the event there are opportunities to visit the Farmer's Market and local restaurants.
