History on the Run
History on the Run is a community running and walking event in Sheridan, Arkansas, held on June 20, 2026. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and is organized to benefit Keeping the Faith Women's and Children's Shelter.
Proceeds support Keeping the Faith, which houses women and children from around the state who are fleeing domestic violence situations or facing homelessness. Due to recent federal funding cuts, the shelter faces a risk of closure, and funds raised by the event are intended to extend shelter operations.
The course passes the Grant County Museum, the county courthouse, and historic downtown buildings. The in-person start is a block from the courthouse, and there is downtown parking available. Participants can also remain in the area after the event to visit the Farmer's Market and local restaurants.
Available event options and registration details:
- 5K (3.1 miles) fun run
- 2 Mile Walk community walk
- Virtual Participant walk or run at leisure
Registration opens March 15, 2026, and closes June 7, 2026, for the in-person events. The listed registration fee for the in-person events is $30.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
