HIKE 30K Challenge - Hike to the Seven Sisters viewpoint

This is a guided day hike across the South Downs along parts of the South Downs Way. The route covers 30 km (19 miles) with about 690 m of ascent and an expected hiking time of seven to eight hours at a brisk pace. The hike is graded Challenging and is intended for experienced, very fit hikers; participants may need to arrange their own transport if they cannot complete the route.

The route leaves Lewes, crosses the River Ouse valley, and follows high chalk ridges and rolling downland. Walkers pass glacial dry valleys, gain panoramic inland and coastal views, and approach distant views of the Seven Sisters cliffs without traversing them. The day finishes in Seaford on the beach near a historic Martello Tower.

Meeting point is Victoria Station, between WHSmith and Nero Express. Train travel for the return is included in the fee. The listed cost covers the guided hike and return train travel; payments are refundable up to seven days in advance and are non refundable and non transferrable after that.

Practical details include bringing a packed lunch and snacks, carrying at least two litres of water, wearing hiking boots or shoes, and taking waterproof jacket and trousers. The group is led by a trained hike leader who is an Outdoor Activity First Aider. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
