Event overview
Hidden Oasis Ultra is a trail ultra taking place in Elkwater, Alberta, inside Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. The event is a 50(ish) kilometre course that reaches the park high point at 1466 metres, described as the highest point between the Rocky Mountains and Labrador. The event lists places for 100 solo entries and 50 two-person teams. The race is organized by the Cypress Hills Adventure Running Society (CHARS) and is presented as the 5th annual running of the 50(ish) km ultra.
Schedule, volunteers and course
Packet pick-up, a racer welcome meal, and a pre-race meeting are scheduled for the day before the race. Race day activities, a post-race social and awards are scheduled for the day of the race. Volunteer roles include remote aid stations and start/finish assistance; each assignment will be staffed by at least two volunteers and organizers will try to match roles to volunteer preference.
Registration and cancellation policy
Registration is offered for solo runners and two-person teams. Pricing is provided in early, regular and last-minute tiers for solo entrants and team captains; the second team member is listed as free. Fees are described as inclusive of mandatory charges. Cancellation policy: a credit worth 75% of the original fee (minus processing fees) is issued for cancellations before January 7, 2026; a credit worth 50% is issued from January 7 to April 30, 2026; no credits or refunds are provided after April 30, 2026.
