Hickory Flat Rebel Run 5K and Fun Run
The Hickory Flat Rebel Run returns for its fifth annual edition in Hickory Flat, Mississippi. This community event features multiple participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual Runner (t-shirt only option)
The course takes participants through the town of Hickory Flat, with both the start and finish lines located at the school gym parking lot on Spruce Avenue. The event is open to all age divisions, and awards are presented to the top male and female 5K finishers overall. Additionally, the top three male and female finishers in the 5K event receive awards across several age categories, ranging from under 19 to over 60.
Proceeds from the event support community activities and provide resources for the local public school. These funds are used for student achievement rewards, faculty and student incentives, and classroom grants intended for student enrichment. The event is organized by The H.D. Wayne Project, a special project of the CREATE Foundation.
Please note that animals are not permitted at the event. In the instance of severe weather, race officials may cancel the event, with a scheduled backup date of May 10th. Participants who register for the virtual category receive a t-shirt but do not participate in the physical race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
