Event Overview
The Hickory Flat Rebel Run 5K and Fun Run is an annual community event held in Hickory Flat, Mississippi. The fourth edition of the race takes place through the town streets, with the start and finish lines located at the school gym parking lot on Spruce Avenue. Participants can choose from multiple event categories:
- 5k Run/Walk: Open to all age divisions.
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: A shorter distance option for participants.
- Virtual Runner: A t-shirt only registration category.
Competition and Awards
The event recognizes performance in the 5k distance. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top three male and top three female finishers in various age groups receive recognition. These categories include ages 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
Registration and Logistics
Participants can register in advance or on the morning of the event at the race site. T-shirts are provided based on availability for late registrants. Please note that animals are not permitted at the event. In the case of severe weather, the organizers reserve the right to postpone the event to the following Saturday, May 10th.
Funds generated from the run support local community activities and provide resources for the local public school, such as student achievement awards, faculty incentives, and classroom enrichment grants.
