Course, support and purpose
The 5K course runs along the Indianapolis Downtown Canal, with the start and finish located directly in front of the NCAA Hall of Champions (south side, next to Celebration Plaza). Two water stops are provided on course at approximately mile 1 and mile 2. Cash prizes are offered for the top three male and top three female finishers, and age-group awards are given. A separate Rookie Run follows the main 5K, and the event description notes activities for children and that pets may participate.
Event proceeds support families with children in area hospitals by helping them stay at the nearby Ronald McDonald House; IREM Indy has donated over $310,000 to date and has received a Helping Hand Award and a room named in its honor.
