Heroes Against Hunger 5K - Little Rock
Heroes Against Hunger is a two-day community event on October 2–3, 2026, held at Murray Park, 5900 Rebsamen Park Rd, Little Rock, AR. The event is organized by the Kelly-Rahn-Turnage (KRT) Fellowship of Physician Assistant Students of UAMS and benefits the Arkansas Food Bank Food for Kids program.
The main race distance is 5K (3.1 miles) along a scenic route around Murray Park. The entire course is paved and accessible with strollers. The event is described as kid and pet friendly. The Run/Walk registration fee is $30 and includes a custom event T-shirt.
Additional activities across the weekend include a Walk With a PA Student 5K that pairs pre-PA students with second-year PA students, a Pie a Professor fundraiser where attendees may enter for $1 per ticket to pie one of seven professors, and a Spirit Runner option tied to T-shirt purchases. Other registration fees shown are $40 for the Walk With a PA Student and $15 for Spirit Runner.
Proceeds support the Food for Kids program. Since 2014 the student organizers have contributed nearly $75,660 and helped provide approximately 378,000 meals to children in Arkansas. The event also aims to raise awareness about the Physician Assistant profession. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
