Heroes Against Hunger 5K - Little Rock
The Heroes Against Hunger 5K is a student-run fundraising event at Two Rivers Park in Little Rock, Arkansas, organized by the Kelly-Rahn-Turnage Fellowship of Physician Assistant Students. The event benefits the Arkansas Food Bank Food for Kids program; since 2014 the students have donated nearly $75,660 and provided about 378,000 meals to children across Arkansas. This is the eleventh annual running of the race.
The course is a scenic loop around Two Rivers Park. The entire race path is paved and accessible with strollers. The event is described as kid and pet friendly. Participants receive a custom event T-shirt as part of the Run/Walk registration package.
Several related activities are listed alongside the main 5K, including a Walk With a PA Student option, a Spirit Runner T-shirt purchase, and a Pie a Professor fundraiser that uses $1 tickets with top donors given the opportunity to pie faculty. Registration fees shown include Run/Walk fee of $30 which includes a T-shirt and other event fees for auxiliary activities. Because the event is charitable, refunds are not issued for weather or cancellation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
