Hero Hustle Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon
The Hero Hustle Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon is a multisport event held in Manchester, Iowa. Established in 2016, the event serves as a fundraiser to support the fire, ambulance, and law enforcement departments of Delaware County. The competition is open to athletes of all abilities and offers several ways to participate.
The event features three primary registration options:
- Individual Triathlon: 400 yd swim, 16 mile bike, and 5K run.
- Team Triathlon: Relay option for teams of 2-3 people covering the sprint distance.
- Individual Duathlon: 1 mile run, 16 mile bike, and 5K run.
The swim portion take place in Schram Pond. The bike course uses public highways and consists of rolling hills for most of the duration. The final running leg is primarily flat, featuring one hill where athletes turn around to return down the same path. For the duathlon, the initial swim is replaced by a one-mile run around the perimeter of Schram Pond before transitioning to the standard bike and run segments.
Participants receive a race t-shirt, a finisher award, and a timing chip with their entry fee. The event base is located at 120 Schram Drive in Manchester. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
