Helvetia 10k Mountain Run
The Helvetia 10k Mountain Run is a road and trail race held in Helvetia, West Virginia, in southern Randolph County. The event follows portions of an original Swiss settlement trail and passes through the center of the village, reflecting the community's Swiss heritage. The race is presented as the 27th running and coincides with the Helvetia Fair.
Each year the event shirt features the coat of arms of a different Swiss canton; one past shirt highlighted the Canton of Bern and its heraldic bear on Clay Hill. The weekend program includes the Black Hel Double, which pairs the Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon (Thomas to Parsons) on Saturday with the Helvetia 10k on Sunday; finishers of both receive a combined award.
Registration for the Helvetia 10k opens April 1, 2026, and entrants may register online or on race day. Additional event details such as the course description, directions, results, and photos are provided by the organizing club. The event is organized by the West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners and is presented as part of their series of club races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
