About the race
Valio Helsinki City Run takes place on 7–8 May 2027 in Helsinki and uses city streets and the Helsinki Olympic Stadium as a finish area. The event is presented as Finland’s largest running event and is scheduled to host 24 000 runners from about 110 nations.
The programme includes several race distances and formats:
- Marathon (Saucony Helsinki City Marathon), the 47th edition, on an AIMS certified course finishing in the Olympic Stadium.
- Half marathon (OP Uusimaa Helsinki City Half).
- Marathon relay with legs of 14 km, 7 km, 13 km and 8 km.
- Helsinki City Double combining marathon and half marathon.
- Saucony Helsinki City 5 and City 5 Walk (5 km).
- Minimarathon for families.
Saucony Helsinki City Marathon details include an 18 year age limit, a six hour maximum time, and a system of pacers with advertised target times. The marathon course has 11 aid stations offering sports drink and water, two Red Bull stations, a gel point on the second lap, and provision for runners to leave labelled personal drinks for collection along the route. Prize categories cover general and age group classes; finishers within the time limit receive a medal. Early registration pricing, event shirt inclusion deadlines and the basic entry fee levels are stated by the organiser.
