Hell of the West : Goondiwindi multisport weekend
Hell of the West is a two-day multisport event held in Goondiwindi, Queensland on 27–28 February 2027. It is organised by the Goondiwindi Triathlon Club and operated as a not-for-profit community event that began in 1989.
The main race is the long-course Hell of the West triathlon. The course combines river swimming, road cycling and town running and is contested by individuals and teams. The core long-course distances are:
- 2 km swim
- 80 km bike
- 20 km run
A new Aquabike option uses the same swim and bike distances without the run. The weekend also includes Super Saturday family and short-course events:
- 5 km and 10 km Gundy Inferno runs
- Firestarter enticer triathlon for participants aged over 12 years
- Hell Kids races for children aged 6–11 years
The event includes category awards, prize money for some races, podium medals and finisher items such as towels and caps. Some events are designated state championship races and entries may be available for individuals or teams.
