Hell of the West Weekend
The Hell of the West Weekend is a multisport event held in Goondiwindi, Queensland, Australia. The main event is the Hell of the West (HOTW) triathlon, a long-course race consisting of a 2 km swim, 80 km bike, and 20 km run. It is known as Queensland’s toughest triathlon and has a 35-year history, starting in 1989.
The weekend also includes Super Saturday events designed for all ages and fitness levels:
- Gundy Inferno: A 5k or 10k charity run supporting the local PCYC.
- Firestarter Triathlon: A super sprint triathlon (200m swim, 7.5km bike, 2km run) for ages 12 and over.
- Hell Kids Triathlon: Events for children aged 6-9 (50m swim, 2.5km bike, 500m run) and 10-11 (100m swim, 5km bike, 1km run).
Participants can enter as individuals or in teams. The HOTW triathlon is the Queensland Long Course Championships and offers a prize pool of $17,000. Registration includes a race bag with a cap and a finisher's towel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
