Hell & Back Winter Warrior : Killruddery Estate, Co Wicklow
Hell & Back Winter Warrior is an obstacle trail event on a 7 km loop at Killruddery Estate in Co Wicklow, offered in three distance options:
- 7KM one lap
- 14KM two laps
- 21KM three laps
The course combines trails, hills and forest sections with a set of named obstacles including Heartbreak Ridge, Valley of Pain and Satan’s Pit. Organisers state there are no swimming or water obstacles, but participants should expect muddy, crawling sections. All finishers receive an exclusive Hell & Back Winter Warrior medal instead of a t-shirt. Post-event food and drink are available in Hell’s Kitchen Food Village.
The event is open to people aged 16 and over; 16 and 17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult. There are strict time-based cut-offs for completing laps; participants must meet these cut-offs to continue multiple laps. Timing chips are not used, as the event is presented as a challenge rather than a timed race. Practical guidance from organisers includes footwear recommendations for muddy terrain, advice on hand and body clothing, and rules against studs or spikes.
