Organized to support the Spina Bifida Association of Arizona, the event raises funds to provide adaptive cycles and mobility services for children and adults living with Spina Bifida. The race takes place in an open-use public park and proceeds as scheduled regardless of rain or shine.
Participants can choose from several distance options and participation categories:
- 5K Heels Division (runners and walkers)
- 5K Wheels Division (wheelchairs and assisted walkers)
- 1 Mile Heels Division (runners and walkers)
- 1 Mile Wheels Division (wheelchairs and assisted walkers)
- Virtual Run (any location)
The course is open to wheelchairs, strollers, wagons, and leashed pets. However, the use of roller blades, skates, skateboards, or motorized devices is prohibited on the race courses. Children ages five and under participating in a stroller do not require registration unless they wish to receive event materials.
All registered participants receive a custom finisher's medal and a dri-fit technical t-shirt. For the 5K event, awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three in various age groups ranging from 12 and under to 56 and over. A pre- and post-race brunch featuring items such as granola bars, fruit, water, and Gatorade is available for attendees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
