About the race
Hearts in Motion presents the 2nd Annual Christmas Run for Kids with Cancer on Saturday 5 December 2026 at African Wildlife Auctions in Vaalwater, Limpopo. The event brings together in-person and virtual participants for runs, walks or jogs to raise funds and collect gifts for children undergoing cancer treatment. Entry fees contribute to a Christmas gift fund used to purchase toys, books and activity sets for children who may spend the festive season in hospital or in isolation. Registered entries are automatically entered into a raffle.
A prize will be awarded on the day for the most festive Christmas outfit, and festive accessories such as Santa hats and reindeer antlers are encouraged. Gift donations are accepted through 12 December 2026 with drop-off locations listed for Vaalwater, Modimolle and Pretoria. A suggested gift list and donation guidelines are shared on the organiser's Facebook page. Financial donations are also accepted to help purchase appropriate gifts and support families affected by childhood cancer. The initiative continues a Christmas programme that began in 2020 and aims to provide comfort, distraction and moments of joy to children and families facing the challenges of cancer.
