Event overview
The Heart O' Dixie Triathlon takes place on June 20, 2026, in Louisville, Mississippi, during the Neshoba County Fair. This is the 46th edition; the first race was held in 1980. The event is centered at Lake Tiak-O'Khata and concludes at the historic Neshoba County Fairgrounds.
Race format and course
The race comprises three sequential legs:
- 0.5 mile swim in Lake Tiak O'Khata
- 27 mile bike ride down Highway 15 into Philadelphia, MS
- 6.5 mile run finishing on the horse racing track at the Neshoba County Fairgrounds
The organizer lists Individual and team entry options. Prices listed are: Individual $110, Team Captain $135, and Team Member $0. The Individual and Team Captain fees increase after January 1, 2026. Registration for Team Member closes on June 18, 2026.
Notes for 2026
Management and operational changes for 2026 include new management by The Refuge of MS, timing by Stearns Race Timing, LLC, on-course photography by Weaver Images, a new swim course and swim start format, and custom pottery awards made by Friends from The Refuge of MS.
