Headwaters Bank Run (26th Annual)
The Headwaters Bank Run is a community running event in Three Forks, Montana held on July 24, 2027. It offers three distances on the Headwaters Trail System and on nearby downtown trails and paths. The event began in 2004 and proceeds benefit the Headwaters Trail System to build more trails.
The course is mainly flat and runs near the Three Forks Ponds and across the Madison River Pedestrian Bridge. The races start at Veteran's Park in downtown Three Forks, near the Sacajawea Hotel and across from the Train Depot Museum. The half marathon also passes through Headwaters State Park at the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin Rivers into the Missouri River.

- 10k (6.2 miles)
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
Registration opens September 6, 2026 and closes June 2, 2027. Early registration fees are $30 for the 5k and 10k, and $35 for the half marathon; fees increase after June 1, 2027. The 5k and 10k are run/walk events; the half marathon is run only. The race uses chip timing. Participants receive a t-shirt and sticker, water stations are placed along the course, and snacks and beverages are provided after the race. Packet pickup is on race day.
