About the race
Headwaters Bank Run in Three Forks, Montana takes place on July 24, 2027. The event benefits the Headwaters Trail System; proceeds support trail building and maintenance.
The event includes these distances:
- 5k Run/Walk, 3.1 miles
- 10k Run/Walk, 6.2 miles
- Half Marathon, 13.1 miles
Courses run primarily on the Headwaters Trail System. The terrain is described as mainly flat. All courses start at Veteran Park near the Sacajawea Hotel and across from the Train Depot Museum in downtown Three Forks. Routes run near the Three Forks ponds and cross the Madison River pedestrian bridge. The half marathon also passes through Headwaters State Park near the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers.
Registration opens September 6, 2026 and closes June 2, 2027. Early registration fees are $30 for the 5k and 10k, and $35 for the half marathon. Fees increase after June 1, 2027 to $35 for the 5k and 10k and $40 for the half marathon. Packet pickup is on race day.
The event uses chip timing. All participants receive a t-shirt and a sticker. Snacks and beverages are served after the races, and water stations are available along the courses. The 5k and 10k are run/walk events; the half marathon is run only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
