Headless Horseman 5K
The Headless Horseman 5K is an in-person running event in Downtown Howell with the start at Clinton and State Streets. The route runs through historic neighborhoods and continues through Scofield City Park. Costumed participants are part of the event.
Registration for the 5K has a fee of $25. Registration opens January 2, 2026 and closes January 31, 2026. Participants who register by the end of September 27 will receive a long-sleeved 50/50 blend shirt.
Early packet pick up is scheduled October 14 through 16 at the Oceola Community Center, 1661 N. Latson Rd, Howell MI 48843, during normal business hours.
Walkers, strollers, assistive devices, and dogs on 6 ft leashes are welcome on the course.
Proceeds from the program help cover event costs and support the Legend of Sleepy Howell, a community trick-or-treating program that provides a safe trick-or-treating experience and assistance for children living in rural areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
