Harlem Huskie Hustle 5K Walk/Run, 1 Mile Walk/Run, and Kids Fun Run
The event takes place Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Harlem High School Stadium in Machesney Park, Illinois. It is organized by the Harlem Wellness Program and includes multiple distances on a course that begins and ends on the stadium track.

Registration and shirts: the 5K has an early rate of $20 through April 30, increasing to $25 on May 1. The 1 Mile entry fee is $15. The Kids Fun Run is free. Race shirts are included with 5K and 1 Mile registration when completed by April 30. Kids Fun Run shirts are available for purchase for $10 in Youth Medium and Youth Large through April 30; payment is required at the time of order and accepted in person.
Packet pick-up is scheduled at the Harlem Administration Center (8605 N. 2nd Street, Machesney Park) on May 14 and May 15 with specified hours. 5K participants receive bibs with timing chips; 1 Mile participants receive bibs without timing chips. Finisher medals are provided for all events. The 5K awards trophies to the top three overall male and female finishers and medals to the top three in each age and gender category.
Course description: the 5K starts on the track at the 50 yard line, exits the track on the north side to Parking Lot D, follows the Willow Creek path to a marked turnaround (no crossing of Forest Hills Road), returns along the front of the high school, and re-enters the track on the south side to finish at the 50 yard line.
Pets are not allowed in the stadium or on school grounds. Walkers are asked to keep toward the sides of the path to allow runners room to pass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
