Happy Trails Marathon in South Jordan, UT

Happy Trails Running organizes a marathon and a half marathon on paved trails along the Jordan River Parkway, starting and finishing at East River Front Park (10911 S River Front Pkwy, South Jordan, UT). The exact April date is to be confirmed; organizers have indicated April 17, 2027 as a possible date.

Distances

  • Marathon: 26.2 miles, +970 ft elevation gain, 97% paved trail.
  • Half Marathon: 13.1 miles, +221 ft elevation gain, 92% paved trail.

Both courses follow the Jordan River Trail for most of their routes and pass bridges, tree-lined sections, golf courses, and parks. Navigation is provided with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. Aid stations are placed along the courses and will offer Gatorade, water, Honey Stinger products, candies, fruit, soda options, first aid kits, and Vaseline. The marathon follows a 7.5 hour pace cutoff policy for course support.

Packet pickup is available at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store on the Friday before the race and same-day pickup is offered at the starting area. Runners receive a race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. Post-race food includes baked items from Great Harvest Bread and drink options. Field size is limited: each distance is capped at 150 runners. Late registration opens March 15 and closes in April; same-day registration is not available.
