The event is organized as a community run and walk that benefits The Happy Jack Fund. The fund awards merit based academic scholarships to siblings who have lost a child and provides support to families who have experienced the loss of a child.

The in person 5K is an officially timed out and back course that begins and ends at Germonds Park in West Nyack, NY. The course is marked with signs and staffed by volunteers, and traffic control is provided by the Clarkstown Police Department. Walkers follow the same route behind runners.
The kids fun run is a quarter mile non timed event for children of all ages. All participants in the kids run and the main event receive a participation medal. Event shirts are guaranteed for the first 200 registered participants in the main 5K; shirt sizes are not guaranteed and are distributed while supplies last.
Awards include overall female and male winners, age group awards for the top three female and male in each listed age group, and trophies for the top five teams with the most registered participants. Parking is available in the lower parking lot of Germonds Park and bathrooms are located on the west side of the lot.
Participants are required to sign a waiver and should not attend if they have had COVID 19 symptoms or a positive test within 14 days prior to the event. Participants who test positive within 14 days after the event must notify the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
