Happy Chinese New Year Run
The event is a self-supported "fat ass" trail run held in San Diego, California on February 20, 2027. It is a single loop of 51 miles on mostly trail terrain with about 5,000 feet of cumulative ascent and descent. The organizer lists no entry fees, no awards, no aid, and no course markings, so participants are expected to navigate and carry or arrange everything they need.
The start and finish point is at Canyonside Park Driveway, San Diego, CA 92126. The route passes through PQ Canyon Trail and other local trails. The event is not virtual and takes place on the stated date.
There are a few public refill and resupply points noted on the route, including a water fountain at Old Pomerado Rd/Bette Brendixen Park (approximately mile 5.7), a neighborhood park with water and rest room at Garden Rd (approximately mile 11.5), 24 hour gas stations near mile 24.8, Lake Hodges Visitor Center around mile 28.4, and Paradise Produce Market near mile 35. Participants should plan for the longest segment between resupply points of about 16 miles.
