Happy Chinese New Year : San Diego, CA
Happy Chinese New Year is a self support trail event held in San Diego on February 20, 2027, organized by Best Runner Leaves No Tracks. The course is a single loop of about 51 miles on local trails with roughly 5,000 feet of total ascent and descent. There are no fees, no awards, no aid stations and no course markings; participants must navigate the route and carry or plan everything they need.
The start and finish are at Canyonside Park Driveway, San Diego, CA 92126. The organizer provides a mapped route and downloadable files including a Garmin course and a GPX file. The route description lists landmarks and approximate mile marks for a counter clockwise route and explains how to convert those marks for a clockwise run. The organizer notes the route direction for the year and advises using a navigation app for planning.
Places where participants can refill or buy supplies are indicated along the route, with approximate mile marks: Old Pomerado Road water fountain, Garden Road neighborhood park water and restroom, gas stations near mile 25, Lake Hodges visitor center, and Paradise Produce Market at about mile 35.
