Happy Chinese New Year Run : San Diego, CA
This is a self supported "fat ass" trail run organized as a single loop of roughly 51 miles on trails near San Diego with about 5000 feet of cumulative ascent and descent. The event has no entry fees, no awards, and no organized aid or support; participants must navigate the unmarked course and carry or arrange everything they need for the run. The event is not virtual and finish results apply only to those who run the course on February 20, 2027.
The start and finish are at Canyonside Park Driveway, San Diego, CA 92126 with driving access from Black Mountain Road toward the ball fields. The organizer lists several public refill and resupply options encountered on the route, including a water fountain at Old Pomerado Road/Bette Brendixen Park, a water fountain and restroom at Garden Road Neighborhood Park, Chevron and Shell gas stations near Via Rancho Parkway, Lake Hodges Visitor Center, and Paradise Produce Market (about 0.1 mile off the course). Some commercial locations have posted hours that may affect availability.
