About the race
The Hampton 5 Miler takes place on September 13th, 2026 in Hampton, New Brunswick. The main distance is 8 km, run on a certified loop course staged out of Hampton High School. The course is measured with a Jones counter and has been certified since 2022, certification number NB-2022-011-PTB. The event was established in 2002.
Registration is open online with a regular fee of CAD $30. There is a late registration option with a late fee of CAD $35 and late registration is held at Hampton Elementary on the day before the main event. Race day registration is also available. The regular registration deadline is September 12th, 2026 at 8:00 pm Atlantic Time.
A Youth Series is offered the day before the main event and is hosted at Hampton Elementary. Youth races use the running trails behind the school and the field and are cross-country in format. Youth race fee is CAD $3 and registration for youth races is race day only. Medals are given to all runners in the 1.0 km and 2.5 km events and to the top finisher in the high school 4 km event.
The 8 km course includes two water stations along the loop. Awards are presented for the top three male and female finishers in the 8 km. Proceeds support local school athletics and cross country programming. Coffee, fruit, bagels, Gatorade and water will be on hand. For safety, no strollers or dogs on leash are permitted.
