The Event
The Hampton 5 Miler is an 8 km race held in Hampton, New Brunswick. The main event takes place on September 13. This edition hosts the RunNB 5 mile (8km) Championship. The course is a certified loop, used for the past 24 years. The start and finish are at Hampton High School.
Youth Races
The day before the main event, on September 12, youth cross-country races are held at Hampton Elementary School. The distances offered are 1.0 km and 2.5 km for elementary and middle school runners, and a 4 km event for high school runners. Registration for these races is race-day only and costs $3.00. These races can also count as a qualifying event for high school regional cross-country championships.
Practical Information
Online registration is available for the 8 km. Late, in-person registration is also available on Saturday, September 12 at Hampton Elementary School. The regular registration fee is $30.00. No t-shirts are included with registration. Refreshments available on-site include coffee, fruit, bagels, Gatorade, and water. Strollers and dogs on leashes are not permitted for safety reasons. Race proceeds support Hampton cross-country programming as well as Hampton High and Middle School athletics and the theatre company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
