About the race
Ham City Fall Fest on October 17, 2026 takes place in downtown Effingham, Illinois at 214 W Jefferson. The event program includes a community 5K and a Kids 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk along streets that pass local restaurants, shops, and businesses.
Race entries have set fees: the Fall Fest 5K carries a registration fee of $35 and the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk carries a registration fee of $20. Children aged four and under may run the Kids 1 Mile for free. Parents may register for and join the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk with their children, and participants already registered for the 5K may join the Fun Run/Walk with their child at no extra cost. Registrations open July 29, 2026 and close October 16, 2026. Registrations completed by October 3 are eligible for the official Ham City Fall Fest T-shirt.
Prizes for the 5K include a pair of Brooks running shoes from Boots & Soles for the first overall male and first overall female finishers. After the running events, Fall Fest features food trucks, a beer tent, and live music. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
