The Hallora Marathon Festival is a community focused event located in the Warragul and Drouin region. Established in 2015, the festival serves as a fundraiser for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, supporting cancer research and patient care. The event promotes physical activity through a variety of distances and participation modes, including running, walking, and cycling.
Participating athletes can choose from several distance options:
- 42 km marathon (run only)
- 24 km (run only)
- 16 km (run, walk, or cycle)
- 8 km (run, walk, or cycle)
- 5 km (run, walk, or cycle)
- Kids Dash (approximately 300 m)
The courses utilize different starting points depending on the distance selected. The 42 km and 24 km events commence at the Hallora Recreation Reserve. All other distances, including the 16 km, 8 km, 5 km, and the Kids Dash, begin at Western Park in Warragul.
The finish line for every event is situated at Western Park in Warragul. This location serves as the event hub, featuring an MC, music, and various amenities. Facilities at the hub include merchandise stalls, food and drink vendors, and a community fundraiser barbecue. While the primary running events take place on Sunday, cycling options are held on a separate scheduled day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
