About the race
The event offers two road races that both start and finish in Ballyheigue village on the Kerryhead Peninsula, part of the Wild Atlantic Way. The main race is a half marathon that follows country roads around the rugged coast, passing the Shannon Estuary and looping back into Tralee Bay. A 10 km run follows a similar coastal route and provides a shorter option with comparable views.
The route provides visible landmarks such as Mount Brandon, Banna Strand, and the gates of historic Ballyheigue Castle near the finish. The finish line is beside the golden sands of Ballyheigue beach, where participants may recover with a paddle in the Atlantic Ocean. The organizer schedules the 2027 edition for Saturday 12 June.
