About the race
The Greifenseelauf is a multi-distance running event around the Greifensee with race options for individual runners, teams, families and walkers. The event features routes that run along the lake shore and through woods, fields and reed areas, with starts at Niederuster (Turicum) and specific course plans and profiles provided for each distance.
Available race categories include:
- Marathon (details on course available)
- Half marathon – 21.1 km (block starts based on target finish times; counted as a ZKB Zürilauf Cup race)
- Short distance – 10 km (block starts)
- Just for Fun – 6.3 km (alphabetical finisher list with timekeeping)
- Minigreifenseelauf: 1.6 km and 1.2 km junior races
- FAMIGROS RUN & WIN: 1.2 km family category with an alphabetical finisher list for children and participant shirts and medals for children
- Walking and Nordic Walking: 6.3 km (alphabetical finisher lists with timekeeping)
- 2-person team relay: first runner completes the half marathon; second runner joins from Maur for the final 9.3 km; ship transport is organised for the second runner between Niederuster and Maur and team places are limited.
Categories are split by age groups and gender where applicable. Group registrations and group discounts are available for larger teams. Entry deadlines and postal delivery cutoff for race numbers are published for each edition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
