America’s 250th – Greenwich Community 5K & Fun Mile
This community running event takes place on June 6, 2026, at the Bruce Museum and in Bruce Park in Greenwich, CT. The event is presented by the Bruce Museum, Greenwich United Way, and Greenwich Road Runners as part of a commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Distances offered:
- 5K (certified course through Bruce Park)
- 1 Mile fun run with participation medals for children
Participants receive post-run refreshments, awards, and entertainment. A race bib grants free admission to the Bruce Museum, including access to the "Six Extinctions" dinosaur exhibit. Net proceeds support children’s programming at the Bruce Museum and Greenwich United Way.
The 5K includes age group awards by category: 12 and under, 13 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 plus. Top three male and female finishers in each age group receive medals. Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third overall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
