Greater 8 and 5K, Creston, Iowa
The event takes place on July 3, 2027, in Creston, Iowa, at McKinley Park. It includes in-person and virtual race options and serves as a fundraiser with proceeds donated to High Lakes Trails.

The in-person 8-mile race starts at Green Valley State Park and finishes at McKinley Park. Transportation is provided from McKinley Park to Green Valley State Park. The in-person 5K both begins and ends at McKinley Park; participants are encouraged to park at the McKinley ball field or on a nearby side street.
Registration opens June 29, 2026, and closes July 3, 2027. Fees listed are $35 for 8-mile entries and $25 for 5K entries; the same fees apply to the virtual options. Virtual participants are not guaranteed a shirt, finisher medal, or swag bag; availability can be confirmed with the race director after the event and the organizers do not cover shipping costs.
The event is supported by a title sponsor, Greater Regional Health, along with community sponsors and volunteers. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers: for the 8 mile race $300, $200, $100; for the 5K $75, $50, $35.
