About the race
The Great Ocean Road Running Festival is held on the southern coast of Victoria, Australia, along the Southern Ocean. The 2027 edition takes place on 15 and 16 May and offers eight distances ranging from a 1.5 km kids event to a 60 km ultra marathon. Races start from locations along the route including Apollo Bay, Lorne and Kennett River.
Event formats include road races, a trail run and a walk. The festival program extends beyond racing to include activities such as glamping, yoga, live music and kite flying. Race photos are provided on the same day by an event photography partner, and official results and tracking are published after the races.
The festival notes the traditional custodians of the land, the Gadubanud people, and recognises their history and culture. The event also lists charity and partner involvement, with named platinum charity partners supporting causes. Practical information on race week, road closures, getting there, volunteer opportunities and registration protection is available through the event resources.
