Great Lakes Relay

The Great Lakes Relay is a multi-day team running event held in Michigan. Founded in 1992, the event is organized as a three day relay for teams of ten runners and takes place across trails and roads described by the organizer as Michigan’s outback. The event emphasizes outdoor fitness, teamwork, and community engagement.

The relay includes division competition with traveling trophies awarded to division winners. The 2026 event named champions in the Mixed Division and the Open Division and published event results. The organizer lists sponsors that support the event.

Proceeds from the relay are used to support the Michigan Special Olympics and a range of local organizations. The event statement notes values of community, integrity, and sustainability and describes an event structure that spans three days of sequential legs run by team members. The organizer provides a team registration process and posts results after the event.

The organizer also lists community impact information and contact channels for inquiries. The next scheduled dates announced by the organizer are July 16 to July 18, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
