Great Appalachian Valley Race
The Great Appalachian Valley Race takes place in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. This event features a flat course on a trail that passes through the local countryside. Participants can choose from several different distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Combo 5K and 10K
All race distances have a total time limit of four hours. For the Half Marathon, an early start option is available one hour before the official start for those who require additional time. Runners choosing the early start are not eligible for awards and are typically expected to maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile or slower.
The event is open to runners, walkers, and families. The registration process includes a non-binary category with dedicated awards for overall and age group placement. First-time finishers of the Half Marathon receive a special plaque to commemorate their achievement in addition to their medal.
