About the race
The Grande Trail da Serra D'Arga is an extensive trail running event organized by Carlos Sá Nature Events in collaboration with several local municipalities, including Caminha and Viana do Castelo. The event features multiple distances held over a weekend in October, traversing various locations such as Dem, Montaria, and Viana do Castelo.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of race lengths:
- 100 km (starting in Viana do Castelo)
- 50 km
- 31 km
- 17 km
- 15 km (starting in Montaria)
- 12 km Walking tour (Caminhada)
- Young Trail (GTSA Kids)
The main event hub is located in Dem, particularly near the local parish church, where most race starts, award ceremonies, and the secretariat are situated. The event schedule includes cultural activities such as performances by the Folklore Festival of Dem and the Rancho Folclórico de Dem. Some logistics, like specific transfer options between Dem and Viana do Castelo for the longest distance, are provided by the organization.
The course terrain involves varying elevations across the Serra D'Arga region, covering areas such as São Lourenço da Montaria, Estorãos, and Vila Praia de Âncora. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
