Grande Prairie Triathlon
The Grande Prairie Triathlon takes place on July 12, 2026. Now in its second year under this name, the event builds on the former Eastlink Centre Triathlon. It is open to athletes aged roughly 3 to 99+, with categories for a wide range of participants. The event is sanctioned by Triathlon Alberta and all athletes must hold a valid Triathlon Alberta membership.
Early bird registration rates apply until May 15. Published fees include Try a Tri at USD/CAD 75 early bird and 80 regular, Sprint at 90 early bird and 100 regular, Team Sprint at 120 early bird and 135 regular per team; Triathlon Alberta day membership fees apply. Kids of Steel entry fees are waived through sponsor support, with a Triathlon AB day membership fee of 10 $ still required.
The race begins with swimming at the Eastlink Centre pool, using 25 m lengths in the pool. Cycling routes proceed from Knowledge Way along 68 Avenue, looping at Poplar Drive and returning to the Eastlink Centre. The run follows the trail system and finishes on the north end of Knowledge Way. For safety, 68 Avenue will be closed from Poplar Drive to Knowledge Way during the triathlon. In the Kids of Steel 5 and under category, a parent may enter the 25 m pool to support the child at no charge; other youth categories have lifeguards in the pool.
