Grand Falls Running - Potato Festival (June 28, 2026)
Grand Falls Running is presented in collaboration with the Grand Falls Potato Festival at the festival grounds, 1 Rue Chapel Street, Grand-Sault. This first volunteer-led edition offers organized and professionally chip timed run/walk events.
The course follows rolling hills through Grand Falls and includes a fast, flat section on the historic Trans Canada Trail overlooking the Saint John River. The route begins at the festival bistro area, moves up a traffic-controlled street section, and returns to the start/finish at the bistro. The 5 km course is an out-and-back with a turnaround and water station at the foot of the old train track bridge. The 10 km continues beyond the 5 km point toward the McCain plant before returning along the same trail with a water station.
Organizers provide limited self-serve water stations and advise participants to carry personal hydration and nutrition. Official chip timing is provided by Atlantic Chip and results are updated during the event. Registration benefits include a race bib with chip timing, event branded swag, a customized finishing medal, event photos, post-event snacks, free parking, certified first-aid course support, and top three awards for male, female, and non-binary finishers per distance. A glam station and additional activities are available on site. Proceeds support the Grand Falls SPCA. Race kit pick up is available in the days before and on event day at the festival bistro; same-day pickup carries a mandatory fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
