Event

The Grand Sand 15k is a trail race of 15 km held at Lester Beach and Grand Beach Provincial Park in Manitoba. The course uses beach sections, the Trans-Canada Trail at Lester Beach, and cross-country ski trails within Grand Beach Provincial Park. The event takes place on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples and the homeland of the Metis Nation. The official route will be determined close to the event depending on water level. Entry includes access to the route with a beach start and finish, on-course first aid support, a Grand Sand patch, and post-race snacks.

Registration and policies

The race date is Sunday, July 26, 2026. Early-bird registration begins April 12, 2026; regular registration runs April 26 through June 28, 2026. Fees are listed as $60 for early-bird and $75 for regular registration. The field is capped at 100 participants; registration closes when the cap is reached or on June 28, whichever comes first. Refunds and deferrals are not allowed for any reason. Bib transfers to an unregistered participant are permitted only until registration closes. Participants are responsible for their own safety on course: if unable to finish or if lost, they must return to the finish area themselves. Runners are expected to carry adequate fluids, appropriate gear, and necessary first aid. Volunteers will sweep the course of flagging but will not retrieve participants from the trail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
