The Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase is a community running event in Grand Ledge, Michigan. All events start and end at the Grand Ledge High School Track & Field Facility, 1211 Lohne Dr., Grand Ledge, MI 48837. Kids events take place on the track; the 5K begins on the track, follows a marked route through city streets, and finishes back on the track.

Logistics, timing and awards

Packet pickup is available at the Sawdon Administration Building (220 Lamson Street) and on race morning at the high school track facility. Parking is available at the Grand Ledge High School Track & Field Facility, with limited access for event workers. The race is timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results are posted live on the event website.

Proceeds benefit the Grand Ledge Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting classroom projects in Grand Ledge Public Schools. Awards and items listed by the organizer include finisher medals for 5K and virtual 5K participants, technical t-shirts and drawstring bags for many 5K entries, cotton-blend t-shirts for youth events, a Comet Squeeze Ball for kids race participants, age-group awards for the top three male and female 5K finishers in each division, and awards for the top ten finishers in the 1 mile youth race.
