2026 GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K
The GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K returns for its 15th annual edition on March 22, 2026. This event offers several distance options for participants, including in-person and virtual formats:

The half marathon route covers five miles of waterfront, passes through four historic communities and three San Diego parks, and includes two miles of running through downtown San Diego. The course concludes in the Gaslamp District. Participants in this distance have a 3.5-hour time limit and must maintain a pace of at least 16:02 minutes per mile. Team scoring is available for the half marathon for groups of ten or more people, provided they include at least two participants of each gender.
The 5K is a flat loop course located in downtown San Diego. It starts in front of the San Diego Convention Center and shares the same finish line in the Gaslamp District as the longer distance. The 5K has a 1-hour time limit, requiring a minimum pace of 19:21 minutes per mile.
All participants receive a technical fabric short-sleeve shirt, a custom finisher's medal, a reusable grocery bag, and access to a pre-race expo for packet pickup. The event features support stations along the route, chip timing, and live tracking. The post-race area includes a Finish Line Festival with a DJ, various vendors, and food amenities such as water, a food bag, and chocolate milk.
