GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K
The 15th annual GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in San Diego, California, with the in-person location near 100 North Harbor Drive and a finish in the Gaslamp District. The event includes virtual options for both distances.
The half marathon course features five miles of waterfront, passes through four historic communities, visits three San Diego parks, runs two miles through downtown San Diego, and finishes in the Gaslamp District. The 5K is a flat, fast loop in downtown San Diego that begins in front of the San Diego Convention Center and also finishes in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Race entries include a technical short sleeve shirt, a custom finisher's medal, a souvenir reusable grocery bag, a one-day pass to the Columbia Employee Store, and eligibility for the Half Marathon Legacy program. The event provides support stations, chip timing with live tracking, a pre-race expo and packet pickup, finish line amenities including canned water, a finisher food bag, and a carton of Hollandia Dairy chocolate milk, plus special post-race offers from Gaslamp area restaurants and a Finish Line Festival with a DJ and vendors.
Time limits apply: a 3.5 hour limit for the half marathon with a required minimum pace of 16:02 minutes per mile, and a 1 hour limit for the 5K with a required minimum pace of 19:21 minutes per mile. The half marathon supports team scoring; teams must have at least ten people and two of each gender for scoring, which averages each team’s top 10 chip times.
