Göteborg Marathon
Göteborg Marathon is held for the 52nd time in 2026 and takes place on 10 October at Slottsskogsvallen. The event includes a marathon and a half marathon and had more than 1 150 starters in 2025.
The course is an out-and-back route measured in 2024 that follows the old coastal railway cycle path south from Gothenburg. The route is described as flat and straight, with the turnaround at about 10.5 km near the boat landing Lilla Amundön. Kilometres are marked along the course. Half marathon runners complete one lap; marathon runners complete two laps.

There are drinks stations about every four kilometres (at 4.2 km, 8.4 km, 12.6 km and 16.8 km) offering water, sports drink, Coca-Cola, banana and raisins. Personal drinks or energy can be transported to the stations. After the finish all finishers receive water, sports drink, Coca-Cola, banana, coffee or tea and a sandwich. Timing is by disposable chip attached to the back of the race bib.
Runners must be at least 17 years old during the year to enter. Transfers or sales of start places are possible until 7 October 2026 via the event marketplace and cost 100 SEK. Finishers receive a medal; there is an option to leave the medal for a 20 SEK donation to charity. Maximum times are 5 hours 30 minutes for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon.
