Pittsburg Rotary Gorilla Grind 5K
The Pittsburg Rotary Gorilla Grind 5K is the 48th annual edition held on October 17, 2026, on the campus of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. The course starts and finishes in front of Weede Gymnasium and the race distance is 5K. The event will be chip timed by Runaround Racing. Water and light snacks will be available at the finish area.
All proceeds support scholarships for local high school students entering Pittsburg State University, and an additional scholarship is awarded to a student entering the PSU Army ROTC program. The event coincides with PSU Homecoming activities.
Registration details from the organizer include an online registration period and a registration fee of $30.00. Runners who register online by September 29 will receive a shirt; packets not picked up on race day will not be mailed. Packet pickup will be located in the entryway of Weede Gymnasium on race day.
Age group awards are given for overall male and female top three finishers and for the following age categories with first through third places: 14 and under; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; and 60 and up.
