The Odyssey
The Odyssey is a half marathon formally known as the Gorges Ithaca Half. The course is a point to point route that begins in the Village of Trumansburg in the Town of Ulysses and finishes in Cass Park along the inlet of Cayuga Lake in Ithaca. After several rolling road miles the route continues on the Black Diamond Rail Trail.
The 2027 course format highlights the use of the Black Diamond Rail Trail, a start on South Street in Trumansburg, and a finish at Cass Park (701 Taughannock Blvd, Ithaca). The organizer notes that course configuration may change.
Each participant receives five aid stations on course, post-race to-go food from Fittnell Farms Catering, an event tech tee guaranteed for registrations before May 1, a finisher's medal, and a bottle. The event also supports local groups through donations to high school teams, parks, and fire marshals.
Packet pickup is scheduled at multiple locations in the days before the race, including Finger Lakes Running Co locations in Syracuse and Ithaca, Garrett's Brewing in Trumansburg, and on race morning at Trumansburg Central School's complex. The event takes place in the Finger Lakes region and is presented as a destination course ending at the base of Cayuga Lake. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
