Gorges Ithaca Half
The Gorges Ithaca Half is a point to point road and trail half marathon distance event held in Ithaca, New York. The course begins in Trumansburg and finishes in Cass Park at the Cayuga Lake inlet, with a net descent in elevation and scenery that passes gorges, cascades, and the upper area of Taughannock Falls State Park. Runners traverse a mix of village streets and the hard-packed gravel surface of the Black Diamond Trail before entering Ithaca and running north along the waterfront to the finish.
Entrants receive an event shirt, a custom sport bottle, and a finisher medal; post-race food is provided. Packet pickup is scheduled on the days before the race at local running-store and Trumansburg locations. Registration opens November 1 and there is no race-day registration; published entry fees increase in tiers up to approximately $150 depending on purchase date. The event uses shuttle buses between the finish area and the start; parking is organized at Charles O. Dickerson High School for the start and at several lots around Cass Park for the finish.
Aid stations are located at approximately miles 2.2, 3.5, 5.7, 8, 10.4, and 12.1 with water and sport drink and occasional fruit. Portajohns are available at the start, finish, and along the course. Walkers are permitted but subject to a 3.5 hour course cutoff. The event follows a no refund policy with limited rollover options if notified by the stated deadline. Live runner tracking and chip timing are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
