Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon

The Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon is a point-to-point distance race scheduled for June 7, 2026. This event connects the communities of Trumansburg and Ithaca, New York, following a course that features rolling hills, state park scenery, and rail trail running. The race begins at Trumansburg High School on South Street and concludes at Cass Park along the base of Cayuga Lake.

The route starts by weaving through downtown Trumansburg before heading toward Ithaca. Participants pass through the upper portion of Taughannock Falls State Park and transition onto the Black Diamond Rail Trail. This section of the course consists of a steady descent on a hard-packed gravel surface. The final mile of the race runs north along Cayuga Lake to the finish line.

The event provides five aid stations along the course for participant support. Those who finish the race receive a medal and a bottle, and a post-race meal is provided by a local catering service. An event tech-shirt is also available for those who register by the designated deadline.

Logistics for the event include shuttle bus transportation between the finish area at Cass Park and the starting area at Trumansburg High School. Packet pickup is held on the three days leading up to the race at various locations in Ithaca and Trumansburg, as well as on the morning of the event at the high school complex.
