Event overview

The Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026. It is a point-to-point half marathon starting in Trumansburg and finishing in Cass Park at the base of Cayuga Lake in Ithaca (701 Taughannock Blvd). Registration opens November 1 and there is no race-day registration. Entrants receive an event tech shirt (guaranteed for early registrants), a finisher medal, a custom sport bottle, and post-race to-go food. The event uses shuttle buses between the finish and the start area for runners who park near the finish.

Course and logistics

The course leaves Trumansburg, passes near the upper tip of Taughannock Falls State Park, and uses the Black Diamond Rail Trail for a steady descent back into Ithaca along a hard-packed gravel surface. The final mile runs north along the Cayuga Lake Inlet to the finish in Cass Park. Aid stations are located at several points on course, at approximate mileages 2.3, 4, 6.1, 8.7, 10.7 and 12.4, offering water and sport drink with occasional fruit. Portajohns are available at the start, finish, and alongside multiple aid stations. Walkers are permitted but the event enforces a 3.5 hour course cutoff. Packet pickup is scheduled at Finger Lakes Running Company, Garrett’s Brewing in Trumansburg, and on race morning at the Trumansburg school complex.
