GOODWILL 5K RUN & 2-Mile WALK
The Goodwill Run, presented by Frontier Waste Solutions, marks the event's 40th anniversary with an 80s theme and takes place in Corpus Christi at Whataburger Field. The event is a fundraising race that supports Goodwill South Texas employment and training programs for people with disabilities or other barriers to employment and regularly attracts more than 900 participants.
The event features two course options:
- 5K run on an out and back course
- 2 mile walk along Corpus Christi’s bayfront
Participants receive a commemorative race t-shirt and a swag bag. The first 250 registrants are guaranteed an 80s slap bracelet and sweatband in addition to standard items. Race entry for the live event is listed at $30. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Friday before the race at La Palmera Mall parking lot behind Dillard’s and is organized as a drive through to collect bibs, shirts, programs, and related materials.
Awards at the live event include 1st through 3rd place medals for the 5K and trophies for the 2 mile walk. Age division awards are offered for male and female competitors in multiple age groups from 7 and under through 60 plus. The 2027 event adds an 80s costume contest with categories for groups, running clubs, adults, students, and up cycled outfits using Goodwill items.
