Event overview
The Gold Rush Fun Run and 5k is the Bentonville Schools Foundation's 16th annual fundraiser for Bentonville students. The 2026 event is scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2026, at Lawrence Plaza in Downtown Bentonville. The race is held in partnership with Downtown Bentonville Inc.'s First Friday. Registration opens in February.

The foundation organizes a Gold Rush Run Club with twice-weekly training sessions; volunteers are asked to contact school buildings for information. Sponsorships include logo placement on T-shirts, banners, and printed material, and sponsors may pre-register up to 30 participants. The organizer states the event reaches almost 3,000 runners. In the event of a weather cancellation, no refunds will be issued; a students-only make-up Fun Run will be held Monday, May 5th at the Old Tiger Stadium track for student registrants.
