God's Country Marathon - Coudersport, PA
God's Country Marathon takes place in Potter County, Pennsylvania and includes a full marathon, a half marathon, and a team relay. The event uses a point to point course that runs west on U.S. Route 6 from Galeton through the Susquehannock State Forest to downtown Coudersport.
The course passes through rural and forested terrain. Galeton is listed at about 1,300 ft elevation and Coudersport at about 1,400 ft. At mile 14 the route begins a three mile climb up Denton Hill to the eastern continental divide, reaching about 2,424 ft, followed by a long descent into historic downtown Coudersport.
The event is organized by the Potter County Education Council and is held in early June. Entry options and listed prices include a full marathon, a half marathon, and a team relay. The race has been held for over 50 years and uses local venues such as Galeton and Coudersport for the start and finish locations.
