The Goblin Valley Trail Runs take place in Goblin Valley State Park near Green River, Utah on November 7 and November 8, 2026. The event uses single track trails that pass among thousands of hoodoos, described as mushroom-shaped rock pinnacles, and runs through protected desert landscape.
Distances and event types include:
- Trail Marathon
- Trail Half Marathon
- 10k and 10k Under 19
- 5k and 5k Under 19
- Elevated Youth 1 Mile

Course notes provided by the organizer describe the marathon as a two-lap route offering wide views of the hoodoos and the half marathon as a loop through the park trail systems. The 10k follows a lollipop-shaped route along Lizard Foot and Buffalo Head trails. The 5k is an out-and-back into a desert grove. Interactive course maps, GPX files and elevation profiles are available from the organizer.
This is a cupless event; participants should bring a personal hydration vessel for aid stations. Packet pick up options include a Friday pickup near the park visitor center and race morning check-in. Finishers of the marathon, half marathon, relay, 10k and 5k receive a custom tri-blend shirt and finisher medal. The kids fun run includes a custom medal and special gift.
Post-event services include an elevated camp area with recovery offerings, live results and race day photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
